King Charles may have some big plans in store for former footballer David Beckham as he made telling gesture for the former sportsman.

David and his wife Victoria Beckham attended their first State Banquet on Tuesday, December 3rd, at the Buckingham Palace.

The King and Queen officially welcomed His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, and his wife, Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher bint Hamad bin Suhaim Al Thani for the much-anticipated State Visit.

Prince William was also present for the dinner, however, Kate Middleton was notably absent.

Hosting the special quests at the glittering banquet, the royal couple also extended the exclusive invites to approximately 150 more attendees, which included the Beckhams.

According to The Telegraph, the Beckhams’ attendance was kept secret until the event began.

Per custom, David and Victoria were seated apart during the dinner. David seated prominently between Conservative leader Kemi Badenoch and Nasser Al-Khelaifi, the owner of his old football club Paris Saint-Germain.

David shares close relationship with Qatar after he was made ambassador for the 2022 FIFA World Cup which was hosted by the Middle-eastern country.

David’s appearance comes amid speculation that the former England football caption is hoping for a knighthood after he was denied one during the late Queen Elizabeth’s reign in 2003.

The knighthood was denied over allegations of tax evasion and financial dealings abroad. However, given that David has been made ambassador for the King’s Foundation, it seems that the his chances of finally getting a knighthood are promising.
