Eminem’s younger brother Nate Kane Mathers has shared his perplexed thoughts after mom’s death.
The 38-year-old took to Instagram one day after their mother lost her life after fighting against lung cancer and shared his reaction over the shocking news.
“Hatred and mixed emotions today,” the rapper wrote on his Instagram Story on Tuesday, December 3rd.
The Mockingbird singer has not yet commented upon his mother’s demise after the news was revealed earlier this week.
Nate’s reaction comes after a years-long estrangement between mother, Debbie Nelson, and sons.
Nate, who is Eminem’s maternal half-brother, was sent to foster care when he was eight years old. The Venom rapper than adopted brother when he was 16 years of age.
The late Debbie welcomed Nate with with Fred Samara Jr., 14 years after she had Eminem during her relationship with Marshall Bruce Mathers, Jr.
The Rap God hitmaker also shared a strenuous relationship with his mom and shared a glimpse into it in some of his songs including hit track Cleanin’ Out My Closet and Headlights.
Years before her death, the mom of two discussed her rocky relationship with her kids in a 2008 interview with the Village Voice.
“I’m not ever gonna give up on my kids. I won’t give up on anybody,” Debbie said.
“There’s hope for everybody. It’s a matter of just basically swallowing your pride. It’s like a cashed check. It’s over, it’s done. You need to move on.”
