Camila Cabello has poured her heart out to express gratitude and admiration for her close pals, who stood by her during a tough phase in her musical career.
In a candid conversation with Nylon, 27-year-old singer revealed how renowned musicians Taylor Swift and Beyoncé showed invaluable support to her after the release of her controversial music album C, XOXO.
Cabello said, "She’s [Taylor] somebody I’ve watched from my childhood. Her [Beyoncé] and Taylor saying nice things about the album meant a lot to me."
"But Beyoncé told me she loved my album, OK? That’s the gold star," the Shameless singer complimented Beyoncé.
Speaking about her recent struggles, Cabello shared that the release of her fourth studio album in June 2024 marked a challenging period in her work life, as it raised questions about her artistic authenticity.
The Señorita hitmaker remarked, "Being in the industry made me build that harder shell and harder exterior, Like Rihanna, Beyoncé, Taylor — this kind of bravado happens in their later work."
"It’s building an armour. My previous albums were more clean-cut," Cabello added.
For the unversed, the Grammy-winning artist dropped her fourth studio album in June 2024.
Upon its launch, Cabello faced intense backlash as several fans massively criticised her for poor singing skills, with many accusing her of mimicking Charli XCX’s style in the album.
