King Charles’ office releases new video message after Camilla health update
Buckingham Palace issues new programme for Queen Camilla amid health crisis
Buckingham Palace issued an update after revealing the change in plans for major royal event as Queen Camilla continues to fight her viral chest infection.
The office of King Charles released a video before commencing the much-awaited visit from The Amir and Sheikha Jawaher of Qatar.
The video was an explainer for the public, who may have some burning questions about the State Visits, which are hosted by the monarch.
“State Visits play an integral role in strengthening Britain’s relationships with countries across the world,” the text read.
“The King, on the advice of the Foreign Commonwealth & Development Office, invites the visiting Head of State. Every visit includes a number of key elements, including: A ceremonial welcome, a Guard of Honour, a Carriage procession, Gun Salutes.”
It also explained that a State Banquet is held on the evening of the guest’s arrival and the monarch makes a speech right before dinner for the guests.
The guests – Amir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, accompanied by his wife, Sheikha Jawaher bint Hamad bin Suhaim Al Thani – are to be welcomed by Prince William and Kate Middleton.
The event also marks Kate resuming her major responsibilities as the Princess of Wales, the future Queen, following her cancer recovery.
Meanwhile, Camilla will be skipping some of the events during the visit as royal doctors recommend the Queen Consort to rest until she has fully recovered from the infection.
