Shahid Kapoor is getting candid about an emotional experience on a film set as he detailed on the vulnerable side of being a man.
During an exclusive interview with Faye D'Souza, the Jab We Met actor opened up about a past heartbreak that left him in tears.
In response to a question inquiring about the actor’s tearjerkers, Shahid said, “I can’t help it, I think I am destroying myself. I have been through those but not for work.”
The actor noted that men struggle to express themselves, often being stereotyped as providers. This expectation, he added, can take a toll on their mental health, as they too are human beings with emotions.
He told the publication, "Sometimes, it can put a lot of pressure on you. Sometimes, you just want to relax and be like, ‘I don’t have to keep worrying about everything and everybody all the time and I can just maybe be vulnerable and let somebody else protect me.”
Speaking of vulnerability, the Kabir Singh actor emphasized that men should also be allowed to express themselves, as emotional expression is an integral part of their emotional well-being.
He concluded, "It’s only human to be vulnerable, so as a man, you should be okay with it.”
On professional front, the actor will be next seen in Deva alongside Pooja Hedge.
