Ellen DeGeneres is setting the record straight on her relocation to the UK with her wife, Portia de Rossi after fleeing US and ‘vowing never to return.’
The 66-year-old, who is widely known for her eponymous talk show The Ellen DeGeneres Show for 19 seasons between the years 2003-2022, was accused of various allegations over ‘toxic’ staff treatment.
Although Ellen didn’t cite any particular reasons for moving abroad, a source close to the star revealed to the press that the star will never return to her homeland until America has stabilized politically."
Their move sparked concerns that the couple’s new Cotswolds home had ended up flooding as a result of the chaotic Storm Bert.
A native, who lives close to the couple’s home previously told MailOnline that 'flood waters are rising by the hour,' “This is the worst I have seen it in years.”
The American retired comedian and actress took to her Instagram on Sunday, December 1, to share an inside glimpse into her relationship with Portia as they celebrated 20 years together.
Addressing all such rumours, she wrote in the caption, "20 years ago today we began this relationship not realizing what a long beautiful adventure this would be. You are the best thing that ever happened in my life." She added: "So happy we get to travel and explore the world together in the next 20 years, and looking forward to our first snowy Christmas.
"P.S. for those of you concerned, our UK farmhouse did NOT flood."
For the unversed, the couple first met backstage at a concert in 2001, and tied the knot later in 2008.
