Ananya Panday is reflecting on the challenges of being a ‘star kid’ following the release of her cyber-thriller CTRL.
The Kho Gaye Hum Kahaan star expressed frustration about her acting background during a recent appearance on Raj Shamani's podcast.
She told the podcast, "I think people make you feel ashamed of where you come from as a star kid. Like, I don’t want to be ashamed of my father. He comes from a family of doctors, but he wanted to be an actor, and he became one. He worked hard and created his own path."
The 26-year-old actress said that she despises being a star kid as it has made her conscious of people’s perceptions.
She didn’t hesitate to mention the downside of coming from a star-studded household, prompting audiences to think, “Oh, it’s their child.”
Ananya said that this approach doesn’t necessarily define the actor’s talent as she spoke against the concept.
The Dream Girl 2 star further on went to explain how crucial it is for people to focus on the work itself, citing ‘insider versus outsider” mentality in the industry.
On professional front, Ananya was last seen in Vkramaditya Motwane’s CTRL, which released on October 4.
