Ace filmmaker Anurag Kashyap’s debut film never came out due to some issues, but now the fans will finally be able to see the film after 22 years.
Producer Tutu Sharma revealed that Kashyap’s debut Paanch will finally see the daylight in 2025.
As per Sharma, the movie will be released in cinemas within six months.
“Paanch is definitely coming next year. I plan to release it in cinemas within six months.”
Gangs of Wasseypur director’s first ever film was banned initially; its negatives deteriorated.
“The film was banned, and the negatives have slightly deteriorated. The process of restoring them has already started. As soon as it's ready, we’ll release Paanch”, he explained to Bollywood Hungama.
Tutu further revealed that the issues with the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) were sorted earlier but there were some added disputes that became a hurdle.
While talking about Paanch, Sharma said: “Not just Kay Kay Menon but even Tejaswini Kolhapure is brilliant in the film. According to me, it is Anurag Kashyap’s best film to date. Many people believe that. You’ll agree with me once you see it.”
Anurag’s directorial is based on 1976–77 Joshi-Abhyankar serial murders in Pune. It also stars Aditya Srivastava, Vijay Maurya and Joy Fernandes
