Jelly Roll and wife Bunnie Xo have found the secret to keeping their marriage thriving.
In an interview with People magazine published November 20, the country star, 39, revealed that the couple, who tied the knot in 2016, never spends more than 14 days apart — no matter how hectic life gets.
“Fourteen days has been our rule kind of from the beginning,” said Jelly Roll, born Jason Bradley DeFord. “We actually just implemented that same rule with our 16-year-old [daughter Bailee]. We realised we were going months without seeing her, and I was like, ‘This just needs to be family.’”
Bunnie, 44, has been a steady presence in Jelly Roll’s life since they met at one of his shows in 2015. Though she was in a relationship at the time, they remained friends, eventually falling in love. The two made their union official with an onstage proposal followed by an impromptu wedding the same night.
Last year, they celebrated their enduring love by renewing their vows at the same Las Vegas chapel.
The Save Me singer describes his wife as “the person you show up to when the chips are down.” On Instagram, he’s praised her devotion to their blended family, calling her “a special kind of woman” for helping raise Bailee and Noah, 8.
“My world shrunk when I focused on one woman,” he told People. “Everything going right for me is because I’m grounded in my family.”
