Zendaya is over the moon after being shortlisted for the Gotham Award.
The Euphoria star, will receive the Gotham’s Spotlight Tribute for her immaculate performance in Challengers.
The actress depicts the character of Tashi Donaldson, a tennis phenom-turned-coach in a complicated relationship with two male tennis players in Luca Guadagnino’s time-jumping spring hit.
The versatile actress also produced the film.
The Spotlight Tribute recognizes “phenomenal efforts by individuals in film and television who captivated global audiences.”
While announcing the award, Jeffrey Sharp, executive director of the Gotham Film & Media Institute, noted Zendaya’s wide range of performance achievements.
“Zendaya’s magnetic portrayal of Tashi Donaldson in Luca Guadagnino’s Challengers exemplifies the creative excellence that The Gotham celebrates,” he said, adding that “her performances in Dune: Part One, Dune: Part Two and Euphoria have made her one of the most captivating actors of her generation.”
Following her Emmy and Golden Globe successes on HBO, the talented actress is poised for film awards recognition with multiple movies in contention this season.
The Gotham Awards will take place on Monday, December 2, at Cipriani Wall Street.
