Keke Palmer’s top priority is her son, Leodis.
A year after her breakup with Darius Jackson, the father of their 21-month-old son, she has finally given an update on where the former couple now stands.
On November 19th, the 31-year-old actress appeared on CBS Mornings in an interview with Gayle King, expressing her immense gratitude for being able to co-exist with her ex and be present for their child.
"I would have never thought that I would be where I am now," she shared with disbelief.
Palmer and Jackson began dating in June 2021 and welcomed their son the following year.
Unfortunately, their relationship took a turn when the Hands Free singer obtained a temporary restraining order against him in 2023, accusing him of domestic and emotional abuse.
After a year of legal battles, the actress finally spoke out about the situation.
In a conversation with People, she shared, "The only way I knew how to bring order was through the court."
She further explained that her fame was a major contributor to the tension in their relationship.
"It’s always become a burden," she expressed.
"Too many voices get in which can make everybody else not trust you. It’s hard to explain."
Despite everything that was going on, the True Jackson, VP actress kept going strong for the sake of her son.
She stated that she wanted the best for him, which, to her, meant maintaining a positive and healthy connection with his father.
