A Complete Unknown star Elle Fanning has recently lauded Timothée Chalamet’ for his singing while playing Bob Dylan in the upcoming movie.
In a new interview with Rolling Stone, Elle recalled, “We were in an auditorium, and I was sitting amongst all these background artists. Jim would let Timmy come out and give the crowd a whole concert.”
“He was singing ‘Masters of War’ and ‘A Hard Rain’s A-Gonna Fall,’ and I was like, ‘Jesus.’ All of us were kind of shaking, because it was so surreal hearing someone do that,” said the 26-year-old.
The Teen Spirit actress remarked, “So perfectly done, but it wasn’t a caricature.”
“It was still Timmy, but it’s Bob, and this kind of beautiful meld. That gave me chills,” added Elle.
The All the Bright Places actress also spilled that she overheard some of the extras saying Timothee might be lip-syncing.
Elle pointed out, “I tapped them on the shoulder and I was like, ‘He is singing. I know he’s singing!'”
Elsewhere in the interview, Elle also opened up about the Wonka star’s unique method of acting for this movie,
“He would keep to himself on set,” stated the actress.
Elsewhere in the interview, Elle also shared an interesting tidbit from the set.
She revealed that Timothée was called Bob Dylan on the call sheet which is why when she was invited to meet Bob, she thought she was going to meet real musician.
Elle recalled, “I was thinking about all these things to say and ask. I was picking out my outfit. ‘I’m meeting Bob Dylan today!’”
However, she later realised the meeting was with the Dune star not the actual Bob.
She jokingly said, “I’m probably the first person in life to be let down by having a rehearsal with Timothée, right? Like, the first girl in history.”
Meanwhile, A Complete Unknown will release in theaters on December 25.
