Prince Harry 'should be worried' about his US residency

Prince Harry's US residency in jeopardy as Donald Trump makes major new hire

Prince Harry’s US residency may be on shaky ground after US President-elect Donald Trump made a key hire, raising fresh concerns about the Duke of Sussex’s visa situation.

Reports suggest that Harry's stay in the States is "hanging by a gossamer thread" amid the ongoing legal scrutiny over his visa.

The issue resurfaced following Trump's electoral win, with many royal watchers speculating whether the election could impact Harry’s status.

The controversy stems from revelations in Harry's memoir, Spare, where he admitted to past drug use.

Under US immigration law, while drug use doesn't automatically disqualify someone, it can be grounds for a visa denial.

Last year, the Heritage Foundation filed a lawsuit against the Department of Homeland Security, demanding the release of Harry’s visa records, citing public interest.

However, a judge ruled that the documents should remain confidential.

Now, with Trump’s recent hire, experts are warning that the situation could pose new challenges for the Duke’s residency in the US.

South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem has been appointed head of Homeland Security, and her appointment could spell trouble for Harry, according to reports.

Known for her no-nonsense approach, Noem’s tough persona was highlighted by a controversial incident where she shot and killed her 14-month-old wirehaired pointer, Cricket, after deeming the dog "untrainable" and "dangerous."

This development comes amid a long-running feud between the Sussexes and the Trump family, which dates back to 2016.

The tension began before Meghan Markle married into the Royal Family, when she publicly criticized then-President Donald Trump, calling him "divisive" and "misogynistic" during an interview on The Nightly Show with Larry Wilmore.
