BLACKPINK’s Rose reveals her unexpected relation to Taylor Swift as she recalls getting career advice from the singer.
During an exclusive interview for i-D Magazine on Monday, November 18, the 27-year-old K-pop artist reflected on asking the Anti-hero hitmaker for advice given that she was ‘drowning a little’ amid launching her solo career.
Expressing her heartfelt gratitude to the Grammy Award winner for her invaluable suggestions and the extraordinary opportunity to meet at a recording studio this September, Rose, real name Roseanne Park, said she couldn’t have arranged for a meet-up at a better time.
She told the publication, "I told her I'm such a huge fan and I just had some questions. As soon as she met me, she's like 'Spill, let me help you out.’
“She gave me her experiences and was so ready to help me. She gave me her number and she's like, 'Let me know if you have any questions.' Who does that? Like, you're Taylor Swift!"
Referring to the 34-year-old as an absolute ‘girl’s girl,’ the Korean star further went on to add, "I'm really grateful for her because I was at a moment where I was drowning a little.
The APT. hitmaker continued, "She was telling me - make sure to take care of this, this and this - like, logistics. She was trying to protect me.
“Me becoming solo, being independent, it's not an easy thing. There are a lot of things I should be careful with, and she gave me a rundown on all the things I have to look out for. That was the coolest part - she's killed it in the game, and she was kind enough to walk me through."
On professional front, the singer is gearing up for the highly-anticipated release of her solo album, Rosie, which is set to drop on December 6, 2024.
