British actress Tilda Swinton has recently teased the next step in her career.
The Doctor Strange star has shared her thoughts on potential retirement from Hollywood in a conversation with ELLE magazine on November,14th.
The 64-year-old explained why she felt The Room Next Door might be her last film.
“I’ve always intended that each film would be my final one. It was not wanting to jinx anything because I have had such fun from start to finish,” she told the publication.
“I always thought, ‘Well, that’s a good one to go out on. Let’s just quit while we’re ahead.’”
The Only Lovers Left Alive actress said she doesn't know what lies ahead but she has a strong feeling that "The Room Next Door is the last film I make."
The Oscar winner acknowledged her prolong success in Hollywood due to creating familial bond with her co-workers.
“I’m really grateful, because I don't know that if I hadn't continued to find these families, if I would be interested in working,” she told the outlet.
Tilda Swinton is starring alongside Juliana Moore in The Room Next Door.
Swinton plays Martha, a war correspondent diagnosed with stage three cancer and Juliana Moore plays Ingrid who is an author in the art world.
The two lost touch several years ago and reunited when Ingrid learned about Martha’s health.
The Room Next Door had its world premiere in on October 18th at Venice Film Festival, where the film bagged the top prize of the Golden Lion.
The Room Next Door is also being considered a serious contender for the upcoming Hollywood awards season.
