Madhuri Dixit reveals 'romantic' motivation for Srk's 'Dil To Pagal Hai'

Madhuri Dixit looks back on her iconic role in Dil To Pagal Hai alongside Shah Rukh Khan, following standout performances in films like Anjaam and Koyla.

During an exclusive interview with Pinkvilla, the Hum Aapke Hain Koun actress, who portrayed the role of Pooja in the Yash Chopra directorial, recalled an intense chase scene from her film Koyla as she participated in a game segment.

Sharing a scene from one of her highly-acclaimed films, Madhuri said, “This is the chase scene where the goons are chasing us and we're running away. And I remember when we were doing this scene, we had done Anjaam before this. And then the next film was Koyla with Shah Rukh.”

Drawing parallels with another film she made alongside Shah Rukh, the 57-year-old explained, “And in Anjaam, we're either beating each other up all the time. And in this one, we're running away in dirty clothes, we're dirty and we're in all kinds of bad situations.”

Later in the interview, the actress, who has appeared in over 70 Hindi films, reminisced about asking the King Khan actor for another romantic film after their two consecutive films, but with a ‘prettier and cleaner’ look.

She recalled, “So I was just talking to Shah Rukh and said ‘We need to do a movie where we are like clean, dress beautiful, look pretty and do romantic scenes together. What is this? We are always running and then what happened was Dil To Pagal Hai after that.”

For the unversed, the duo have delivered spectacular performances with their remarkable on-screen chemistry in six films, including Anjaam, Koyla, Dil To Pagal Hai, Gaja Gamini, Devdas, and Hum Tumhare Hain Sanam.
