Aamir Khan has recently disclosed the main reason behind his decision to quit the Bollywood industry.
According to media reports, the 59-year-old actor and his wife have recalled the moment he decided to take retirement from Bollywood.
In a conversation with The Hollywood Reporter India, Aamir revealed that his family encouraged him to take his decision back when he was about to announce his retirement.
The 3 Idiots star said, "I decided to quit before Laal Singh Chadha. I was going through a personal journey of my own. Towards the end of Covid, I suddenly realised that I have spent the bulk of my adult life."
"Starting from the age of 18 right up to now, all of my bandwidth and focus has been on cinema and films, as a result, I felt that I haven’t been there enough for my relationships with my kids, siblings, and family," the Indian actor remarked.
Speaking more about his mental condition, Aamir said, "Whether it was Kiran or Reena when I was married to them. I felt that I wasn’t there for these people enough. This was midway through Laal Singh Chadha."
"Because half the film was shot before Covid and the other half happened after that," the father-of-two remarked.
Aamir is currently working on his upcoming Indian film titled Sitaare Zameen Par.
Reportedly, the movie is expected to release on December 25, this year.
