The Buckingham Palace on early Sunday morning issued a message to mark an important event in the royal calendar.
Remembrance Sunday, which is marked on the Sunday nearest to 11 November, Armistice Day, commemorates the service and sacrifice of all those that have defended freedoms and protected our way of life in UK and the Commonwealth.
Often symbolised with a poppy flower, the Palace shared a photo with the poppy field backdrop, with the words “Lest we forget.”
The photo was accompanied by a statement, “At the going down of the sun and in the morning, We will remember them.”
The tribute for the fallen soldiers came ahead of the Remembrance Sunday Cenotaph Parade, which is set to take place November 10th.
According to UK time, at 10:30 a.m. all detachments form up on the Cenotaph.
At 10:50, participants will process out onto the Cenotaph and finally at 11 a.m. sharp , the National two-minute silence will be observed, followed by the firing of guns from King’s Troop on Horse Guards Parade.
The Cenotaph Service, which is expected to see King Charles, Prince William and Kate Middleton in attendance along with other members of the royal family, will then commence.
