Mariska Hargitay couldn’t seem to take Donald Trump’s victory against Kamala Harris in the 2024 presidential race.
Hargitay surprised fans by deactivating her Instagram account following the conclusion of the 2024 elections.
On Wednesday night, within a day of the finalisation of the election results, social media users noticed that the Law & Order: Special Victims Unit star's profile, once accessible, when now searched shows an error message reading, “Sorry, this page isn’t available. The link you followed may be broken, or the page may have been removed.”
Fans and followers reacted with curiosity and speculation, as Hargitay, 60, had been an active celebrity on the platform.
“I will miss Mariska Hargitay on Instagram. I hope she comes back next year. I don’t blame her, but f y’all for making her do this,” one fan wrote on social media.
Another wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter, “Whoever made American’s sweetheart Mariska Hargitay deactivate her Instagram, I wish you nothing but the worst disrespectfully.”
“Oh MY GOD!!! Was Mariska’s account closed by Instagram or did Mariska close the account with her own request?” an X user speculated.
However, there hasn’t been an official statement by Hargitay on the matter.
