Ryan Reynolds revealed that had tried to get Nicolas Cage to make a cameo on Deadpool & Wolverine as Ghost Rider.
On November 7th, the 48-year-old actor appeared on The Entertainment Weekly’s podcast The Awardist where he shared that Cage was only in the initial drafts.
The Canadian actor revealed that they had reached out to the 60-year-old actor to revive his iconic role from the movie The Ghost Rider but the Oscar winner had refused.
"We tried to get him, but he was a no-go. I would’ve loved him," The Proposal actor said.
Marvel’s Rodney Fuentebella shared early concept art after the movie’s release, which displayed plans for cameos by Nicolas Cage and Ben Affleck.
Unfortunately, the team and Reynolds were unable to make this happen.
He further clarified that they were trying to shoot the film responsibly.
"It’s a big budget movie, so you want to give yourself as much constraint, which really I think facilitates asymmetrical thinking and creativity," he explained.
"If you have too much time or too much money, it usually kills that kind of creativity."
