Natalie Portman, the Academy Award-winning actress, has apparently taken her ex-husband Benjamin Millepied's swift move into a new romance in stride.

Sources close to the situation reveal that Portman isn't surprised by Millepied's recent public display of affection with an unknown woman.

"Natalie isn't surprised that Benjamin has moved on because of how their relationship ended. She thought he'd move on pretty quickly," an insider shared with Us Weekly. "[Natalie] hopes Benjamin is happy."

Portman, 43, learned about Millepied's new romance just before the photos went public last month. However, a second source emphasises that the Black Swan actress remains unfazed by her ex's romantic decisions.

"Benjamin's dating life doesn't really have any bearing on Natalie," the insider noted.

"She's super happy in her life right now and has been prioritizing family and friends."

Nonetheless, another source reaffirmed Portman's indifference, stating, "Natalie doesn't really care who Benjamin is dating. She moved on a long time ago."

Millepied, 47, was spotted locking lips with the mystery woman in Paris on October 15.

This development comes after the couple's tumultuous marriage made headlines in June 2023, when Page Six exclusively reported that they were struggling to save their union following Millepied's affair with climate activist Camille Étienne.

Portman discovered the infidelity in March 2023, and French media published photos of Millepied and Étienne, 26, exiting his Paris office in May 2023.

At the time, a source revealed, "They have not split and are trying to work things out. Ben is doing everything he can to get Natalie to forgive him... He loves her and their family."

Despite efforts to reconcile, Portman filed for divorce in July 2023 and finalised the proceedings in February.

In a subtle nod to her newfound independence, Portman thanked friends for their support on her 43rd birthday, saying they lifted her up "again and again."
