Tom Hanks is a well-known star in Hollywood but he admitted his fans confuse him with Oscar-winner Michael Keaton.
During an appearance on the latest episode of Happy Sad Confused podcast, Tom responded to a question about which actor he’s mistaken for.
“Oh, Keaton all the time,” said the Forrest Gump actor.
Tom told the host, “Yeah, me and him are, you know, some form of odd doppelgänger back from a long time ago.”
“They don't say 'Beetlejuice Beetlejuice' to me exactly. But a lot of time, 'Hey, were you in that?' You know, I get that,” stated the Asteroid City actor.
Tom recalled he was almost selected for the role of Ray Kroc in 2016's The Founder, another part that eventually went to Michael.
The Ithaca actor also reflected on fans speculation about being offered the role of Batman.
“That was probably around the time Michael Keaton did it,” remarked Tom.
The Finch actor further said, “Wouldn't that be comical? No, never. Can you imagine me in that suit?”
“Keaton was a fabulous Batman, he was mysterious. If I had grabbed a bad guy and shook him like that. And he said, ‘Who are you?!’ and you heard me saying, ‘I’m Batman!’” mentioned the legendary actor.
Tom added, “It just would not have worked out, no matter what they did to the voice box.”
