Shawn Mendes appears unbothered by 'SNL' dig at self-discovery statement
Shawn Mendes chooses to stay silent over a mocking remark at 'SNL'
Shawn Mendes appears to be protecting his peace as he was seen out and about in Los Angeles after Saturday Night Live took a dig at his personal statement.
After facing rumours about his self-identity for years, the 26-year-old singer geared up to address them in his concert last week, in Colorado.
The In My Blood hitmaker told his fans that he was trying to be “really brave” touching upon this topic, and revealed that he was still “figuring it out.”
On the weekend, in the latest episode of Saturday Night Live, Heidi Garner, playing Reba McEntire responded to an election related question by taking a dig at Mendes, saying “Call me Shawn Mendes, 'cause I'm still figuring it out!”
The Stitches singer has seemingly chosen not to respond to the comment.
He stepped out of the house in a tank top and beige pants, showing off his sculpted body, per fan-posted pictures, without commenting on the joke.
Addressing the speculations about his gender identity, he shared that it is “kind of silly, because I think sexuality is such a beautifully complex thing, and it’s so hard to just put into boxes.”
Mendes then shared, “The real truth about my life and my sexuality is that, man, I’m just figuring it out like everyone.”
