The rapper Flavor Flav who has previously voiced his admiration for Taylor Swift now spoke in encouragement for her pal Selena Gomez.
The 65-year-old singer took to X, formerly Twitter and commended Gomez’s openness in talking about mental and physical health publicly.
"I don’t know her personally,,, but Selena Gomez is one of the STRONGEST and MOST BEAUTIFUL people inside and out," wrote the Fight the Power rapper sharing a photo of Gomez, 32.
The rapper added, "I applaud her for being so open about her health and mental health. And I applaud her even more for clapping back at haterz,,, but she shouldn’t have to."
The Lose You to Love Me songstress has been vocal about her lupus and bipolar disorder diagnoses, and founded the Rare Impact Fund to support "organisations increasing access to youth mental health services and education globally," according to the organisations’ website.
Due to the Fund, 1% of all sales of the beauty brand are donated to support mental health treatment.
This comes after the Only Murders in the Building star talked to People in October, sharing the steps she takes to protect her mental well-being.
"Try not to isolate," she said to the outlet at the time.
"I think it's important to have moments alone," Gomez added. "But when you isolate, sometimes those feelings can just stay bottled up."
The Disney alum encouraged fans to "find one person to trust and tell your heart to" and make sure "you can actually trust them with that information."
Advocating against the taboo of suffering mental illnesses in silence, Gomez said, "It really does help to share."
