Queen Camilla has announced she is stepping back from all royal engagements this week as she deals with a chest infection.
Following a recent tour of Australia and Samoa alongside King Charles, the Queen is following her doctors' advice for a short period of rest to aid her recovery.
A spokesperson from Buckingham Palace stated, "Her Majesty The Queen is currently unwell with a chest infection, for which her doctors have advised a short period of rest."
Expressing her regret, she has had to withdraw from her scheduled appearances but remains hopeful she will be well enough to participate in this weekend’s Remembrance events as planned.
Royal watchers will be keeping a close eye on her recovery as she looks forward to resuming her duties.
"With deep regret, Her Majesty has been compelled to cancel her engagements for this week, but she sincerely hopes to recover in time to participate in this weekend's Remembrance events as scheduled."
"She expresses her apologies to anyone who may be inconvenienced or disappointed by this decision."
