Selena Gomez shares her thoughts on mental health awareness at Rare Impact event
Selena Gomez has recently opened up about helping people suffering from mental health struggles.
In a new interview with E! News, the Only Murders in the Building star revealed she would like to help people through her Rare Impact Fund foundation.
“My dream is to have places where people who are thinking bad thoughts—I want them to go to a place and have the resources,” said the 32-year-old at the red carpet of Rare Impact Fund event on October 24.
Selena told the outlet, “So, I have big goals, big dreams and I'm just starting, and it feels like a good start.”
Selena, who revealed her bipolar disorder and Lupus diagnosis, spent a lot of time working to improve her own mental and physical health.
“Sometimes, you just need someone to tell you, 'I feel you' or 'Me too,’” remarked the songstress.
The Emilia Perez actress believed, “Validation can help people actually connect and hopefully create something beautiful out of that.”
Elsewhere in the interview, Selena also shared a crucial reminder for anyone going through a challenging period.
“I've learned so much about the complexities of being a woman from my mental health to physically being OK, and also just wanting to make sure that all around I feel healthy," explained the actress and singer.
Selena noted, “I just want people to know that everything isn't a highlight reel. Life is very complex and different.”
