Shakira has opened up about the emotional toll of her split from Gerard Piqué, confessing it was difficult to "recognize her vulnerability" in the aftermath of their 11-year relationship.
In a revealing interview with GQ, the Hips Don’t Lie singer, admitted that music became her outlet for grieving, as she posed for her most daring shoot yet, donning a silicone bra.
The former couple confirmed their breakup in June 2022, following allegations that the former FC Barcelona star had been unfaithful.
Reflecting on her healing process, Shakira explained how it shaped her latest album Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran.
"It wasn't easy to acknowledge all the vulnerability I was feeling at the time," she revealed. "For many months after my separation, I remained silent, trying to begin mourning, but I couldn’t truly start grieving until I began writing music."
The singer has revealed more about her journey of healing after her split from Piqué, sharing that writing music became her path to recovery.
"It was my way of healing. And it continues to be. Grief is not a linear process; it's full of peaks and valleys," she told in interview.
The superstar bared her emotions—and a daring look—during her raciest shoot yet, flashing plenty of skin in a black silicone bra with her blonde hair swept into a high ponytail.
In another sultry snap, she showcased her legs in a mesh skirt, burgundy PVC top, and lace-up black boots.
The emotional depth of her latest album Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran is just as striking as the visuals, with each track chronicling different stages of her breakup—from gratitude for their shared memories to harsh criticism of Piqué’s alleged narcissism.
Shakira also admits that while seeing him with his new girlfriend, Clara Chia Marti, was painful, her life has improved since their split.
