Nicole Kidman to receive prestigious award for philanthropic services

Nicole Kidman will be honoured with the esteemed Sherry Lansing Leadership Award at their annual Women in Entertainment breakfast gala on December 4 in Los Angeles, as per The Hollywood Reporter.

This invite-only event brings together 600 industry leaders and VIPs to celebrate the most powerful women in entertainment, coinciding with the release of THR's Women in Entertainment issue.

"Nicole Kidman's remarkable career has captivated audiences worldwide," said THR co-editors-in-chief Nekesa Mumbi Moody and Maer Roshan. "Her award-winning work as an actress and producer, combined with her philanthropic efforts, make her the perfect recipient of this award."

Established in honour of Sherry Lansing, the first woman to head a Hollywood studio, this award recognizes trailblazers and philanthropists in entertainment and media. 

Past recipients include Adele, Charlize Theron, Jennifer Aniston, Reese Witherspoon, Oprah Winfrey, Barbra Streisand, and Viola Davis.

"Receiving this award in Sherry Lansing's name is an extraordinary honor," Kidman said. "I celebrate the remarkable female filmmakers and creators I've collaborated with... and the female powerhouses I've worked with throughout my career. My mother, the ultimate woman who inspired me, has been my guiding light."

Sherry Lansing added, "I'm thrilled to honor Nicole Kidman. Her work has left an indelible mark on cinema and inspired millions. She's set an example for people everywhere on using influence for good."

Kidman's impressive career has earned her numerous awards, including Oscars, Emmys, SAG, and Golden Globes. 

The actress has also been recognized for her philanthropic work, serving as a U.N. Women Goodwill Ambassador since 2006 and raising millions for various causes.
