Taylor Swift made a special gesture for Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy for making “having her back” despite their personal differences.
The 14-time Grammy-winning singer’s brother, Austin, personally delivered a handwritten letter to Portnoy after he publicly defended the musician for declaring her side in the upcoming US elections.
Portnoy took to social media to share the letter which came in a wax-sealed letter, addressed to “Dave!”
In a carousel post, the BFFs podcast host shared photos of the letterhead which read “from the desk of Taylor Swift” and the footer read, “Songwriter/Feline enthusiast.”
It also contained a closeup of the wax seal that had Swift’s number 13 embossed on it.
“Dave, I’m so happy to have you at the show tonight!” Swift penned. “I wanted to say thank you for always being so supportive, so loyal, and for having my back when a lot of people didn’t.”
She signed off the letter with “I hope you have a blast tonight!! Love, Taylor,” and drew a heart at the end.
Portnoy has been a well-known Swiftie for years, however, he and Swift support very different candidates in the upcoming elections.
When asked about the matter, he said, “I don’t care at all. People can vote for whoever they want in this country.”
He added, “How somebody votes will never change my opinion of a person. I’m voting the other way but to each their own.”
On Sunday, Swift wrapped her Eras Tour Miami dates and will now be heading to New Orleans for the next leg of the tour.
