Courteney Cox is finding the empty nest phase more challenging than she expected after her daughter Coco, 20, went off to college.
Speaking at the Inc. 5000 45th Annual Conference & Gala in Palm Desert, the Friends star shared her experience of adjusting to her daughter’s absence, according to People magazine.
"I didn’t get why people got upset when their kids went to college," Cox, 60, admitted, referencing Coco's first year away. "She didn’t talk to me anyway — she was always in her room.”
However, things changed when Coco came home for the summer.
"She was all mature and talking more," Cox explained, praising her daughter as "special, smart, and funny."
The Scream star — who recently confirmed her return for the seventh instalment of the slasher franchise — confessed that her daughter's return to school was tougher the second year. "I didn’t want her to go back to college," she admitted.
Cox shares Coco with her ex-husband, David Arquette, 53, though neither parent has revealed where Coco is attending school.
