Beloved One Direction singer Liam Payne was honoured at the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony following his tragic death in Argentina.

The 31-year-old, who fell to his death from the hotel's third-floor balcony on Wednesday, October 16, was remembered by the Cleveland’s Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse, giving him a special mention.

As an image of the singer appeared on the screen from the time when One Direction was reaching heights, the crowd erupted into cheers and applause.

Ever since the Strip That Down hitmaker passed away, fans have paid heartfelt tributes on social media.

The former X Factor contestant's fellow bandmates issued a heartbreaking statement after his passing.

They wrote in a joint statement, "We’re completely devastated by the news of Liam’s passing."

They added: "In time, and when everyone is able to, there will be more to say. But for now, we will take some time to grieve and process the loss of our brother, who we loved dearly.

"The memories we shared with him will be treasured forever. For now, our thoughts are with his family, his friends, and the fans who loved him alongside us. Our thoughts and prayers go out to him, his friends, family and fans all over the world."

For the unversed, Liam is survived by his seven-year-old son Bear, who appeared in one of his Instagram videos weeks before his death.
