King Charles found himself amused over the reaction some of the Aussies had to his arrival in Down Under on Friday.
The monarch was welcomed with an epic light show at the Sydney Harbour and greeted by dignitaries at the tarmac, but was swiftly taken away to his stay out of the airport, following the pleasantries.
However, a scene caught the attention of Charles and Camilla and left them absolutely “tickled” over it, a source told Daily Mail’s Rebecca English and Natasha Livingstone.
A woman in her dressing gown was “waving madly” at the King Charles as he passed by.
“She had obviously just been getting ready for bed but heard the convoy’s sirens and was super-excited, so she rushed out. It definitely tickled everyone,” the insider shared.
After taking a day for rest on Saturday, Charles commenced his engagements with a Sunday Church service after which he met the Governor-General of the Commonwealth of Australia, Sam Mostyn, and the Governor of New South Wales, Margaret Beazley.
The monarch then spoke at the NSW Parliament to recognise the Bicentenary of the Legislative Council of the Parliament of New South Wales.
The king will undertake several audiences before the tour transfers to the capital Canberra tomorrow.
