Liam Payne's struggles with 'expired' American visa revealed
Liam Payne faced US visa complications ahead of his death: here's why
Liam Payne was reportedly “forced to extend Argentina stay” due to issues with “expiring American visa.”
The former One Direction singer, who fell to his death from his Buenos Aires hotel in Argentina, visited the US embassy earlier that week given that his application was rejected over history of substance abuse.
A source opened up to The Mail on Sunday, October 20, about his delayed visa process.
The insider said, “They ordered him to do medical tests, see a doctor, do bloodwork and X-rays and see a psychiatrist and that was all done the first week.
“Liam thought the trip would only last a few days but because of all the tests he ended up getting stuck there.”
However, the process moved forward and visa was due to be stamped on Friday, October 18, following the late singer’s death on Wednesday.
According to his renewed ‘non-immigration’ visa, Payne was allowed to start afresh in Florida alongside his girlfriend in Miami.
The former X Factor contestant was accused of being drugged up just hours before his death, causing widespread concern among his fans and family.
