Liam Payne remembered at Rock & Roll Hall of Fame ceremony days death
Liam Payne 'clean and in good spirits' before deadly balcony fall
Liam Payne was given a heartfelt tribute during the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame ceremony on Saturday night, just days after his tragic passing.
The former One Direction star, who died at 31 after falling from a third-floor balcony in Buenos Aires, was remembered in Cleveland, Ohio, as this year's inductees were celebrated.
During the event at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse, an image of Payne from his early One Direction days was projected onto the screen, sparking cheers from the audience.
Her death, which occurred instantly after a 45-foot fall from his hotel room balcony, remains under investigation, but his memory was honored with deep emotion by fans and attendees alike.
Police found drugs, including the potent hallucinogenic "cristal," in Liam Payne’s hotel room following his tragic death in Buenos Aires.
Authorities believe the drug, known for causing blackouts and psychotic episodes, could have been supplied by someone at the hotel.
A source told MailOnline, "Where did Liam get the drugs when he had no money?" They also revealed that Liam had been working on a new version of his favorite One Direction song, Fireproof, just hours before his fatal fall.
Payne, was reportedly in Argentina to renew his U.S. visa and had passed medical and psychological tests days earlier, proving he was "totally clean."
He had been in "good spirits" and was planning to return to his girlfriend, Kate Cassidy, in Miami.
However, investigators suspect someone at the hotel may have supplied the drugs, with reports that the establishment conducted an internal probe and fired at least one employee.
