King Charles made a hilarious comment which left the New South Wales parliamentarian in fits.
For the unversed, the monarch is currently on his much-awaited tour of Australia after ascending the throne.
The King and Queen Camilla received warm welcome upon arrival in Sydney on Friday night.
The royal couple began their tour by attending a church service at St Thomas’ Anglican Church on Sunday. The King held important meetings with key political figures as well.
Notably, His Majesty marked his presence at the reception which took place at the New South Wales parliament.
While delivering his first speech, Charles shared that he brought a gift, an hourglass, for the parliamentarians, which would work as a "speech timer." The King's remarks left the attendees in fits.
King said, "It is my great pleasure to present a small gift to the parliament, it is in fact an hourglass, a speech timer. To sit in the chambers and bear witness to the legislative council's next chapter so with the sands of time encouraging brevity."
