Sarah Ferguson was reportedly "outraged" when her daughter’s glamorous wedding was overshadowed by a major announcement from Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, insiders reveal.

Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank exchanged vows at a star-studded ceremony in 2018, which attracted a glittering guest list that included celebrities like Liv Tyler, Demi Moore, and Robbie Williams.

Eager to support the couple, Harry and Meghan even postponed their planned Royal Tour to Australia to attend the wedding.

However, amid the celebrations, the Duke and Duchess chose that moment to reveal Meghan’s pregnancy with their first child, Archie. While the family celebrated the joyful news, the timing infuriated Fergie, as noted by author Tom Bower in his book Revenge: Meghan, Harry, and the War Between the Windsors.

"Many wondered why Meghan chose to reveal her news on the bride's big day," he added. "Meghan put her foot in it when she decided that it would be the ideal moment to announce that she and Harry were expecting their first child," reports MailOnline.

"This was a huge social gaffe, even if you were not a Royal stealing the limelight from Eugenie, who was furious, as was her mother, Sarah," wrote Dylan Howard and Andy Tillett in Royals at War: The Untold Story of Harry And Meghan's Shocking Split With The House Of Windsor.

Despite what may seem like a social blunder in announcing a pregnancy during a wedding, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle reportedly maintained a close relationship with Eugenie, who is now a mother of two, and her husband, Jack. This bond remained intact even amidst the tension between the Sussexes and other members of the royal family.

Three days after the wedding, on October 15, 2018, Kensington Palace officially confirmed Meghan’s pregnancy. She welcomed their first child, Prince Archie, seven months later in May 2019, at the private Portland Hospital in London.

Breaking with royal tradition, Meghan and Harry opted not to take the customary 'hospital steps' photos. Instead, Harry spontaneously spoke to the media outside Windsor Castle shortly after Archie’s arrival, expressing his pride in Meghan.

In his book, Spare, Harry said the the couple told Prince Charles shortly before Eugenie and Jack's drinks reception at Windsor while he was in his study. Harry wrote that he decided to tell William afterwards when he and Meghan pulled him aside - and the heir to the throne straight away gave a four-word response.

He explains: "We whispered the news and Willy smiled and said 'we must tell Kate'. She was across the room talking to Pippa. I said we could do it later, but he insisted.
