Princess Kate is set to "meet public expectations" as she resumes her royal duties after a challenging year, says a style expert.

The 42-year-old Princess of Wales, who had been battling cancer, recently completed her chemotherapy treatment in September. With her recovery progressing, Kate is gradually returning to public life.

Last week, she made her first official appearance, meeting with bereaved families affected by the tragic Southport stabbing.

In an exclusive interview with GB News, style expert Mimi Nguyen shared insights into Kate’s fashion choices as she prepares for more royal engagements.

"Kate has always been known for her elegant mix of luxury designers and high-street brands, and I expect that trend will continue," said Nguyen. "For formal events, we’ll likely see her favor designers like Alexander McQueen and Jenny Packham, while brands like Zara, Reiss, and LK Bennett may feature in her more everyday looks."

During her Southport visit, the princess wore a striking brown Alexander McQueen coat paired with a polka-dot dress from Whistles. As Kate takes on more public appearances, her style is expected to reflect her royal status while maintaining an approachable and sustainable edge, aligning with current global trends.

She said: "Given her reputation for elegantly combining luxury designers with high-street brands, we can anticipate her continuing with this style strategy.

"I imagine for formal events, we’ll continue to see her donning brands like Alexander McQueen and Jenny Packham as the likely first choices."

When Kate stepped out in Southport last week, the princess wore a stunning brown Alexander McQueen coat.

She paired the garment with a polka-dot dress from the brand Whistles.

Nguyen continued: "I also have a strong feeling that more accessible choices like Zara, Reiss, and LK Bennett will find a place in her daily wardrobe.

"As far as I have seen, Kate’s style has always reflected her royal status while staying approachable.

"So as she returns to the public eye, I expect her wardrobe will exude that perfect blend of classic elegance with practical modernism, completed with sustainable choices.

"I definitely see her combining these elements to match the current global fashion trends and public expectations."

Princess Kate is expected to attend two key engagements in December: her annual Christmas Carol Concert and the Royal Family's gathering at Sandringham.

After completing her chemotherapy, the 42-year-old princess expressed her intention to gradually resume some royal duties in the months ahead.
