Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut has taken an indirect dig on Alia Bhatt’s latest released film Jigra.
One day after the release of Alia's film, Kangana took it to her social media handle and shared a mysterious post that pointed out towards the failure of women centric cinema and films.
The actor-turned politician wrote on her Instagram story: "When you destroy women-centric films and make sure that they don't work, they don't work, even when you make them. Read that again. Thanks.”
However, the Tanu Weds Manu actress did not mention any films’ name, but her post came out soon after Jigra’s release.
Bhatt’s starrer action-thriller released in theatres on October 11, 2024. The film had a lukewarm opening at the box office as it earned only INR 3.58 crore on its first day.
According to India Today: "Jigra could have been a much better film if the story wasn’t so linear. As an audience, you want to be invested in a revenge drama.”
“Bala starts the film alright, but in no time it starts looking like a one-dimensional exercise to build and create big moments around his lead actress. The brother-sister angle around which the crux of the entire film hangs is so feeble that it doesn’t take too long for the thread to break."
Directed by Vasan Bala, Jigra starring Alia Bhatt and Vedang Raina, failed to impress the cinegoers and critics.
