Jennifer Lopez is never looking back on her relationship with ex-husband Ben Affleck.
In an interview with Interview magazine published Wednesday, October 9, Lopez, 55, reflected on the divorce — two months after filing — revealing that she does “not regret” her choice “for one second.”
Ultimately realising that the decision to part ways with Affleck is “exactly what [she] needed,” JLo expressed, “I think to myself… ‘Thank you, god. I’m sorry it took me so long. I’m sorry that you had to do this to me so many times. I should have learned it two or three times ago. I get it.”
Lopez, who has been married three times before, likened the emotional toll of the split to getting “hit … really hard over the head with a f***ing sledgehammer.”
Despite her past hopes for lasting love, she now views the “old Jennifer,” who longed for companionship to feel complete, as a “dumb b*tch” and has learned to say "no" to that mindset.
Though Lopez admitted feeling “lonely” and “sad” after the split, she’s embraced her independence, saying, “I am capable of joy and happiness all by myself.”
Lopez did not take Affleck’s name in the interview, though she did not hide who she was talking about. Meanwhile, Affleck, 52, has yet to comment.
The pair, who famously ended their first engagement in 2004, reconciled in 2021 and married the following year, only for Lopez to file for divorce on their second wedding anniversary on August 20, 2024.
