Ali Wong brought laughter and a surprise revelation to Today with Hoda and Jenna, proposing a perfect match for Hoda Kotb.
Wong, 42, enthusiastically suggested setting up Kotb with her friend Eric André, 41, host of The Eric André Show.
"Eric André is like obsessed with you," Wong said with a smile, asking if Kotb was familiar with André's work.
As Wong showed photos of André, including one dressed as Kotb for Halloween in a light brown wig and purple dress, Kotb and co-host Jenna Bush Hager were visibly surprised.
"Because he loves Hoda," Wong explained. "I asked him, when I was talking to him about dating, I was like, 'What is your type?' And he responded, 'Hoda.' No, I think he just said 'Hoda' because you're like, you know, in that mono... status — what is it, mononym status?"
Kotb confessed she had no idea about André's admiration.
Wong emphasised André's fondness shouldn't be surprising, given Kotb's accomplishments. "You have a career, you're secure, you're beautiful."
Bush Hager agreed the two could hit it off, jokingly telling Wong, "Let's talk after this!"
Kotb, previously engaged to financier Joel Schiffman, has been focused on her career and raising daughters Hope, 4, and Haley, 7.
