The Royal Family is known for keeping certain matters well under wraps, which is why a major leak of monarch’s private details to the public left the Palace fuming.
King Charles seemingly broke a long-standing tradition in his reign after he revealed his cancer diagnosis in February this year, but that not the case for his mother, late Queen Elizabeth II.
According to a source cited by In Touch Weekly, the royal family is “livid” that former British Prime Minister Boris Johnson revealed private medical details of the late Queen.
A month after the Queen’s death in September 2022, it was officially revealed that the longest reigning monarch died of “old age” at 96.
However, Johnson claimed in his newly-released memoir that the late Queen suffered from bone cancer.
“I had known for a year or more that she had a form of bone cancer, and her doctors were worried that at any time she could enter a sharp decline,” Johnson penned in his memoir.
Describing his last meeting with the Queen, he noted that “she seemed pale and more stooped, and she had dark bruising on her hands and wrists, probably from drips or injections.”
While the sensitive breach has distressed the royals, but there won’t be a dire action taken against him, not in public at least.
“It’s terribly upsetting for everyone in the family,” the insider revealed. “They may not reprimand him in public, but behind closed doors they are fuming.”
