Dwayne Johnson hypes upcoming 'Moana' sequel: 'An epic adventure!'
'Moana' 2 will hit theatres on November 27, 2024, while a live-action adaptation is scheduled for 2026
Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson is getting fans hyped for the return of his character Maui on the upcoming Moana sequel.
On Tuesday, the wrestler-turned-Hollywood-star took to Instagram to share an exciting update on the highly anticipated Moana 2. Along with a new movie poster and trailer, he promised an “epic adventure” as the film prepares to hit theatres next month.
In a joint post with Disney, Johnson, 52, shared, “Go on an epic adventure with #Moana2, only in theatres November 27!”
The Jumanji actor added to the excitement in a follow-up post, writing, "Can I get a chee hoo!! You feel the mana, as MOANA 2 is almost here."
Johnson signed off in character, writing, “See you in theatres November 27th ~ Maui, out.”
The sequel, which was announced earlier in February, will feature Johnson reprising his role as Maui alongside Auli'i Cravalho as Moana. Set three years after the events of the 2016 original, the new film follows Moana on an epic journey to explore lands beyond the shores of Motunui.
The girl-dad-of-three, who shares a deep connection with the film’s Polynesian culture, has openly expressed his pride in sharing their traditions with the world.
While announcing the Moana live-adaptation set to release in 2026, Johnson expressed,” It’s our deepest honour to share the legends, songs, dances and traditions of our Polynesian culture with all of you and your families around the world,
