When Prince Harry and Meghan moved to California, they left behind many aspects of their former royal life, prioritising privacy and a sense of normalcy for their two children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.
Royal fans only occasionally catch glimpses of the Sussex children, but those moments reveal how much they’ve grown.
While Harry's connection with some members of the Royal Family has been strained, his son Archie shares a surprising habit with Harry’s father, King Charles—one that reflects the King’s lifelong passion.
King Charles has long been an environmental advocate, campaigning against plastic pollution and raising awareness about climate change. His love for nature is a core part of his life and shapes many of his personal habits, including one that some might find quirky: talking to plants.
In 2010, Charles shared, “I happily talk to plants and trees and listen to them,” and he even has a tradition of "shaking hands" with a tree’s branch after planting it.
Despite the physical distance, Archie has adopted a similar habit. In a 2022 interview with The Cut, Meghan revealed that Archie greets two palm trees in their Montecito garden every day as he walks past, a routine inspired by his parents’ shared connection to nature.
The Duchess explained: "One of the first things my husband saw when we walked around the house was those two palm trees...See how they're connected at the bottom? He goes, 'My love, it's us.'" This led to Archie picking up his seriously cute habit, "Now every day when Archie goes by us, he says, 'Hi, Momma. Hi, Papa.'" Meghan explained.
