Legendary actor Rajinikanth was admitted to a hospital in Chennai earlier today after he complained of stomach pain.
Soon after he was shifted to the hospital, the Thalaivar actor’s wife Latha Rajinikanth avoided sharing any details about his health at first.
Recently, the Apollo Hospital which is located on Greams Road in Chennai has released an official statement updating about the Jailer actor’s health.
According to the hospital, they have performed a non-surgical procedure on him after witnessing a swelling in a major blood vessel connecting to the 73-year-old actor’s heart.
The statement read: "Mr Rajinikanth was admitted to Apollo Hospitals, Greams Road, on 30th September 2024. He had a swelling in the main blood vessel leaving his heart (Aorta), which was treated by a non-surgical, trans catheter method.”
As per India Today, the hospital further stated that: “Senior Interventional Cardiologist Dr. Sai Satish placed a stent in the aorta completely sealing off the swelling.”
“We would like to let his well-wishers and fans know that the procedure went as planned. Mr. Rajinikanth is stable and is doing well. He should be home in two days."
On the work front, Rajinikanth is gearing up for the release of his upcoming film Vettaiyan. The film also stars the legendary Amitabh Bachchan in pivotal role.
