Jennifer Lopez's efforts to maintain a positive relationship with Ben Affleck's inner circle, particularly Matt Damon, have been rebuffed, according to an insider.
A source exclusively told In Touch that Damon, 53, remains unwavering in his loyalty to Affleck.
"Matt's loyalty to Ben is unshakable," the source explained.
Lopez has been trying to stay in good graces with Affleck's friends post-breakup, but Damon isn't having it.
"It's important to her to stay in good graces with Ben's friends, even after the breakup," the insider added.
"But Matt has never been close with JLo and is firmly on Team Affleck, no matter how hard she tries to get on his good side."
Damon and Affleck's friendship spans decades, dating back to their childhood in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
Their bond has endured through Hollywood's highs and lows, including their Oscar-winning collaboration on Good Will Hunting.
For Lopez, maintaining relationships with Affleck's friends could facilitate a smoother divorce process.
However, Damon's allegiance remains with Affleck, unaffected by Lopez's attempts to mend fences.
Lopez has navigated public breakups before, but winning over Affleck's best friend may be a challenge too far.
As the dust settles on her and Affleck's split, it's clear that some allegiances won't be swayed – especially Matt Damon's unwavering support for his longtime friend.
