Darren Star, the mastermind behind Netflix's hit series Emily in Paris, has revealed some disappointing news for fans of Camille Razat's character.
In an interview with The Wrap, Star hinted that Camille might not return for the show's fifth season.
"I think she's always going to be part of the series — she's part of their world and I would never rule out the fact that we're going to see her again," Star clarified.
"Her story is going to continue."
However, when probed further about Camille's journey in future storylines, Star seemed uncertain.
"I don't know. I think that's a question," he said.
"Characters can come in and out of a series, but you don't necessarily have to see them. We may or may not. I don't know how much of Camille we'll see next season. But again, she's part of the world of the series. I'm not sure how soon we'll see her, but it doesn't mean, again, that we won't be seeing her."
Meanwhile, Lily Collins, who plays Emily, shared insights into the upcoming season.
"I feel like [Emily and Marcello] have a real spark and a real connection and a real romantic connection. A lot of that's going to continue to play out next season," Collins told Netflix's Tudum.
As for a potential reunion between Emily and Gabriel, Collins dashed fans' hopes.
"Unfortunately, Gabriel has to deal with the repercussions of his choice to end things with her," she stated.
The fifth season of Emily in Paris, confirmed on September 16, 2024, promises to bring more drama and romance to the City of Light.
