Lady Gaga initially wanted to keep her engagement to Michael Polansky under wraps, but her plans were foiled by none other than the French Prime Minister.
However, during a July Olympic event, the pop icon, 38, inadvertently let the cat out of the bag by referring to Polansky, 46, as her “fiancé” in a video shared by French PM Gabriel Attal after her performance at the Opening Ceremony.
Appearing on The Graham Norton Show, the 38-year-old star recounted the moment, saying, “He proposed on April 1st, and I thought he was joking.”
Despite their plans for secrecy, Gaga laughed as she explained how the slip occurred while they were filming a greeting for the Prime Minister.
She recalled, “Then when we went to the Olympics, we were filmed saying hello to the Prime Minister and I was caught on camera saying ‘This is my fiancé.’”
In another recent interview with BuzzFeed Canada, Gaga expressed her enthusiasm for starting a family with Polansky.
“I’m so happy to be in love, and I’m so excited to have a family,” she gushed when asked about her long-term goals.
The couple first linked around New Year’s Eve in 2019 and officially went public in early 2020.
