Eva Mendes appeared on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon to promote her debut children's book, Desi, Mami, and the Never-Ending Worries.
She also discussed her husband Ryan Gosling's hosting stint on 'Saturday Night Live' earlier this year.
Mendes enthused, "I was so excited! I was backstage… it's incredible."
Her favorite sketches were Can't Tonight and Beavis and Butt-Head. In Can't Tonight, Gosling played a man with a Cuban accent after marrying a Cuban woman.
Mendes found it hilarious, "With Cuban Papi, the thing that was so funny is my dad actually doesn't speak English, and this isn't like oh, he speaks a little. No, he doesn't speak English... And he's been in the country 50-something years."
The Girl in Progress star demonstrated how Gosling and her father communicate:
"So when Ryan and him hang out, it's very much like… [Mendes imitates how they communicate]."
She added, "So after what, 12 years, it finally paid off."
After the SNL episode aired, Mendes gushed over Gosling on Instagram, stating, "My Cuban Papi made this Cuban Mami so happy with this."
She also acknowledged SNL cast members Marcello Hernandez and Kenan Thompson. "Can't wait for this trio's next reunion."
Mendes and Gosling, who met on the set of The Place Beyond the Pines (2012), share two daughters, Esmeralda Amada (9) and Amada Lee (7).
The couple keeps their relationship private but shows subtle support for each other, including Mendes' post following Gosling's I'm Just Ken Oscars performance.
