Whoopi Goldberg has recently lashed out at Dancing with the Stars for casting convicted Anna Delvey on the competition reality show.
“I think back to all the families who’ve had family members arrested by ICE who have gone to the courts to get their dad or their brother or their mother back. This woman, they gave her permission to go do this,” said the Sister Act star on September 5 episode of The View.
Whoopi asked, “Now, should I think there’s a reason, is there a two-tiered system here with ICE?”
The Ghost actress' comments came a day after Anna’s casting was announced and she was given clearance by the US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) to compete at the event amid her house arrest.
When co-host Joy Behar quipped that Anna seemed to be getting her second chance because of her pretty looks, Whoopi replied, “Well, that’s a little bit of a piss-off.”
“I like pretty people too, but I gotta say I listen to people bitch about what’s going on at the border and I’m listening to people who bitch about all these people who shouldn’t be here? Well, what the hell man? How does this work?” she explained.
Whoopi continued, “We gotta support the network.”
“I get all that, but this is an ugh in the face of people who are trying to make their way back,” she added.
