Prince Harry has made his first public appearance since his secret visit to the UK last month, featuring in a striking video released by his Invictus Games charity.

The Duke of Sussex had quietly travelled across the Atlantic in late August to attend the funeral of Lord Robert Fellowes, his late uncle and brother-in-law to Princess Diana.

Harry, 39, attended the service at St Mary’s Church in Snettisham, Norfolk, alongside Prince William, though the brothers reportedly did not interact after entering through the church’s rear entrance.

Although he has not been seen publicly this September, Harry took center stage in a new video promoting the Invictus Games. The video, shared earlier today, features his narration over clips of disabled veterans competing in the Games, which will take place in Vancouver, Canada, in February 2025.

He says: "Sport has the ability to heal, to change lives, and to save lives. For so many of these competitors, getting to the start line has been one of the hardest moments of their life. But at the games, their lives are changed. Watching these magical moments and sports being the facilitator of that is very, very special for all of us to witness."

The video has drawn criticism from some corners of the public, with social media users highlighting the fact that it was posted not long after his brother broke cover for the first time since the two met in August.

The heir-to-the-throne, 42, was seen at the Saatchi Gallery this afternoon, where he attended a groundbreaking exhibition covering homelessness.

The video was released hours following his attendance today, irking one commenter on X, formerly Twitter, who said the release was "so not cool".

They said: "Posted within a couple of hours of Prince William’s first royal engagement this fall, so not cool Invictus." Other social media users were excited by the video, however, with another saying: "What a beautiful video! Beautifully stated."

One person living in Canada hailed the games' location in Whistler, Vancouver, next year, saying: "Let’s goooo Invictus Games Vancouver Whistler." Another added: "Beautiful, so exciting. Coming closer rapidly now."
